FAQ
AP Placement Questions
Helpful answers before rough-in, cabling, equipment placement, and final commissioning.
When should ap placement be planned?
As early as possible, ideally before rough-in. Access points work best when their locations are planned before rough-in. We account for layout, materials, outdoor spaces, and wiring paths so coverage is designed instead of guessed. Early planning helps avoid visible compromises, missed cabling, awkward equipment locations, and expensive changes later.
Can you work from plans before the building is finished?
Yes. We can review plans, identify technology requirements, mark up recommended locations, and coordinate with builders, low-voltage contractors, electricians, and owners before final installation.
What should be included in the plan?
The plan should account for indoor and outdoor ap locations, coverage planning for large or complex layouts, ceiling and wall placement guidance, wired backhaul planning. The final scope depends on the property layout, construction phase, and long-term support needs.
Can you commission the system after construction?
Yes. After the cabling and spaces are ready, we can install, configure, test, label, document, and hand off the UniFi system so the planned infrastructure becomes a working network.
