FAQ
Network Racks Questions
Helpful answers before we recommend access points, cabling, equipment, or support.
Is network racks a good fit for an existing home?
Yes. We can plan network racks for existing homes, renovations, vacation properties, and larger residential layouts. The design starts with the property, the weak spots, and how the system needs to be used day to day.
Will this require new cabling?
We prefer wired infrastructure where it makes the system more reliable, but the recommendation depends on the home. We look at available pathways, access point locations, PoE needs, and practical installation options before recommending cabling.
What will be planned before equipment is recommended?
A clean rack makes the system easier to support, troubleshoot, expand, and explain. We organize the equipment behind the scenes so the network stays maintainable. Typical planning points include gateway, switch, patch panel, and nvr layout, ups and power protection planning, cable management and labeling.
Can you support it after installation?
Yes. We document the design, equipment, cabling notes, and important configuration choices so network racks can be supported, changed, and expanded later. Support can also include UniFi app guidance, VPN access review, and remote troubleshooting where appropriate.
